I had the honor of a blind friend in college. Sometimes I was a help in getting him someplace faster or better than he could get there on his own. When Mike had someone, and then later a dog, to augment his own strengths, there was hardly anywhere he could not go.
I know that there are places in life, sometimes physical and sometimes only situational that are just beyond. At least for me. There are journeys to places that I never give the first thought.
Until I have the offer of an arm. With the arm, I sense the slightest turn and acceleration. Accuracy in that regard becomes automatic. Even if I do not catch the signal for a step up, the arm is there to bear my full weight when I stumble. Not if. On the arm, I go where He goes and I know He will not take me anywhere where He cannot and will not keep me.
The range of dangerous places where I am willing to go when I am essentially safe is nearly without limit...and I know that the number is approaching zero. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCOY_ChkiX8
Father, thank you for your arm. I will go where you lead me, I will say what I hear you say. I will touch what you bring within reach.
