Is there a difference between dental pain and fear of dental pain?

Should a Kingdom Kid be able to get his teeth cleaned without fear of dental pain? Maybe I will go more often, just to measure progress. What kind of testimony would that be, to spend a whole session in the chair without any anxiety?
