Out on the Face

There is a zone we have entered at work.  It is a whole new place.  We have never gone there.  There are some similarities with what happens when there is an outage.  But it is much more different from that than it is like that.  We have never been here before.  It has taken three months to get here.

And there is no going back.

You see, we are on the face of the wave.  We lined up, and waited.  Then we paddled.  Like crazy.

Somewhen, we tipped over the top and got energy from the wave.  You can see some of it in people's eyes.

There is something else you can see in some eyes.  Well, two things.  How the ride ends.  What it will be like to paddle back out and catch the next one.

How the ride ends is part of the reason we do this.  Paddling back out is part of why we do this, but it is also fertile ground for worry.  Neither are now. Thinking about both or either takes away from the ability to do this, now.
